چکیده

We study subrings in the Chow ring CH∗(A)Q of an abelian variety A, stable under the Fourier transform with respect to an arbitrary polarization. We prove that by taking Pontryagin products of classes of dimension ≤ 1 one gets such a subring. We also show how to construct finite-dimensional Fourier-stable subrings in CH∗(A)Q. Another result concerns the relation between the Pontryagin product and the usual product on the CH∗(A)Q. We prove that the operator of the usual product with a cycle is a differential operator with respect to the Pontryagin product and compute its order in terms of the Beauville’s decomposition of CH∗(A)Q.

Chromatic Characteristic Classes in Ordinary Group Cohomology

We study a family of subrings, indexed by the natural numbers, of the mod p cohomology of a finite group G. These subrings are based on a family of vn-periodic complex oriented cohomology theories and are constructed as rings of generalised characteristic classes. We identify the varieties associated to these subrings in terms of colimits over categories of elementary abelian subgroups of G, na...

Fourier-mukai Transforms for Abelian Varieties and Moduli of Stable Bundles

We classify Fourier-Mukai transforms for abelian varieties. In the case of a principally polarized abelian surface these are then used to identify a large family of moduli spaces of stable vector bundles as Hilbert schemes of points on the surface.

The Motive of the Hilbert Cube X [ 3 ]

The Hilbert scheme X [3] of length-3 subschemes of a smooth projective variety X is known to be smooth and projective. We investigate whether the property of having a multiplicative Chow– Künneth decomposition is stable under taking the Hilbert cube. This is achieved by considering an explicit resolution of the rational map X 3 99K X [3]. The case of the Hilbert square was taken care of in Shen...

Constructions of Nontautological Classes on Moduli Spaces of Curves T. Graber and R. Pandharipande

0. Introduction The tautological rings R(M g,n) are natural subrings of the Chow rings of the Deligne-Mumford moduli spaces of pointed curves: (1) R(M g,n) ⊂ A (M g,n) (the Chow rings are taken with Q-coefficients). The system of tautological subrings (1) is defined to be the set of smallest Q-subalgebras satisfying the following three properties [FP]: (i) R(Mg,n) contains the cotangent line cl...

Künneth Decompositions for Quotient Varieties

In this paper we discuss Künneth decompositions for finite quotients of several classes of smooth projective varieties. The main result is the existence of an explicit (and readily computable) Chow-Künneth decomposition in the sense of Murre with several pleasant properties for finite quotients of abelian varieties. This applies in particular to symmetric products of abelian varieties and also ...
